Davenport Police Host Coffee With a Cop Events

Posted on 03/27/2023

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 20, 2023) – The Davenport Police Department invites community members to join them throughout April and early May for Coffee with a Cop. The events will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Hy-Vee stores throughout Davenport. Residents will have the opportunity to join officers for coffee and conversation.

“We want our officers to connect with the residents in our community,” said Sergeant Andrew Harris, Community Impact Team Supervisor. “It’s about having conversations and interacting with our neighbors in meaningful ways, outside of a call for service. We want to have a chance to talk about topics that they find interesting or have questions about.”

The mission of Coffee with a Cop, a national program, is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve and allow the opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in their neighborhood.

Hy-Vee will be hosting five Coffee with a Cop events in partnership with the Davenport Police Department. The dates and locations for the events are:

Thursday, April 6 – Rockingham Road Hy-Vee located at 3019 Rockingham Rd
Thursday, April 13 – West Locust Hy-Vee located at 2351 W Locust St
Thursday, April 20 - West Kimberly Hy-Vee located at 2200 W Kimberly Rd
Thursday, April 27 – East Kimberly Hy-Vee located at 1823 E Kimberly Rd
