Development & Neighborhood Services is accredited by the American Association of Code Enforcement (AACE)*. Notably, the agency is the first agency in the state of Iowa and the 7th in the country to earn this credential upon becoming accredited in August of 2022.
As part of the accreditation process, the agency was evaluated across various standards intended to ensure a uniform level of professionalism and service in the code enforcement industry. Criteria involved in the review include administration, staffing, training, professional development, enforcement, case management, and quality control.
Established as a department in 2017, achieving accreditation in 2022 demonstrates the department’s commitment to delivering professional services to our community.
The Development & Neighborhood Services is currently accredited as a Three Star Agency. AACE Accreditation requires the department to submit annual reviews and undergo reaccreditation every three years with the potential to become accredited as a Four- or Five-Star agency in the future.
