Davenport Citizens Academy is a ten-week program aimed at connecting citizens to their local government. If you have ever been curious about how the City prioritizes projects or how heavy a Firefighters turnout gear is – this academy could be for you!
The Monday sessions from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. will begin on March 27, 2023 and start with an introduction to city government and conclude with graduation at the May 24, 2023 City Council meeting. In between, participants will learn the basics of city government as well as community development processes, community policing, and budget planning. Applications are currently not being accepted.
Enrollment is limited and participants must be 18 years of age or older. Attendance to all ten sessions is highly encouraged.
