Resurfacing to Begin on 4th Street

Resurfacing to Begin on 4th Street
4th Street one way sign.

This spring, the city initiated a significant $14.1 million, multi-year project to resurface and convert portions of 3rd and 4th Streets between Telegraph and River Drive, starting with 3rd Street. As we approach fall, work will begin on 4th Street, starting with the closure of the road between Pine Street and Thode Court on Monday, September 29. Drivers should follow the signed detour or find an alternate route during this initial phase.

The resurfacing will be done in sections, focusing on areas west of Division this fall and winter. Work will then continue west to east when work resumes in the spring. The first areas to be worked on this fall include the sections between Pine Street and Thode Court, and Thode Court and Telegraph Road. Additional sections may be completed this winter, if the weather permits.

Once resurfacing on 4th Street between Telegraph and Harrison is complete in the fall/winter of 2026, the street will be converted to two-way traffic between Marquette and River Drive. This will involve re-striping the road and updating traffic signals at intersections.
