(March 27, 2026) The construction season has just started and is already gaining momentum, with the second project of the season beginning at the intersection of E 53rd Street and Utica Ridge Road on March 30. The 53rd Street and Utica Ridge Road Intersection Improvement project will include traffic signal modifications, widening for dedicated turning lanes, pavement upgrades, sidewalk improvements for ADA compliance, and installation of a new median on Utica Ridge.
 
Travel through the intersection will be maintained in all directions for the duration of the project.
 
Initial work will focus on the northern curbside lanes of E 53rd Street and northbound Utica Ridge Road. Transient lane reductions are likely throughout the project. We will provide updates as the project moves into its next phase.
 
Construction is expected to be completed in August. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve this busy intersection.
