(November 28, 2025 - 10:30 AM)
Winter has arrived! Our first accumulating snowfall is on the way, with 10–13 inches expected from this evening through Sunday, November 30, according to our partners at the National Weather Service. Due to high snowfall amounts, the city is declaring a Snow Emergency from 8 p.m. Friday, November 28, through 9 a.m. Sunday, November 30.

Expect poor travel conditions overnight through Sunday morning. If you must go out, remember to drive according to conditions and give yourself extra time.

Parking restrictions apply during a Snow Emergency. Vehicles parked Posted Snow Routes during the Snow Emergency may be ticketed and towed. Residents and visitors to the Downtown may park for free in any of the city’s three parking ramps beginning at 8 p.m., Friday, November 28, through 8 a.m., Monday, December 1, to keep vehicles off of these routes.

Crews will focus on clearing Posted Snow Routes until the snow stops and pavement is clear, then will shift focus to residential roads.

Stay tuned for updates here and stay safe out there and at home.

(October 13, 2025 - 6:00 AM) Winter is just around the corner, and Davenport is preparing for the season to arrive. Plow blades and spreaders are being installed, training is underway, and our salt supply has been replenished.

As part of winter preparation, the city encourages all residents and visitors to be prepared. This includes signing up for Snow Emergency Alerts. Signing up for alerts is the most reliable way to know when a Snow Emergency has been declared and when parking on posted snow routes is prohibited.

Snow emergencies are declared when the area is expected to receive ice and/or hazardous volumes of snow. Parking is prohibited on Posted Snow Routes when a snow emergency is in effect. This helps Public Works crews ensure that the highest traffic volume roads and hills receive priority service, which helps everyone get around when the snow starts to fly.
