CitiBus Routes Now Available on Google Transit

Davenport CitiBus keeps making it easier to catch a ride…

Just last year, CitiBus announced its new website and app which allows riders to track where their bus is in real time.  Today, CitiBus announces another service enhancement – Google Transit.

With both the CitiBus and Metro systems on Google, it is now super easy for anyone to plan a trip in and around the Quad Cities using public transportation.

This planning tool can be accessed by visiting www.googlemaps.com or www.google.com/transit. Just enter your starting point and where you want to go (click on the transit icon if accessing in googlemaps), and click “Get Directions”.  The tool will display results, including your walk or ride to the nearest bus stop, Route #, any necessary transfers and duration of the trip.  Planning ahead?  If so, use the “Schedule Explorer” to customize your trip options.

While the addition of Google Transit makes planning your trip a whole lot easier, riders will still find the Transloc app useful for tracking real time bus locations and for service notifications, such as detours. The app is free, and covers Davenport CitiBus, Metro and Bettendorf bus systems.

Citizens in the Quad Cities should give public transportation another look – city specific and regional enhancements are improving the rider experience by making bus transportation more reliable and friendlier to access.  Check out Davenport CitiBus today at www.citidbus.com.
