Main Street Landing

MSL Banner

This page will feature regular updates on the 10-acre attraction under construction on the Davenport riverfront. Stretching from Main Street, east to the roller dams, Main Street Landing is a project decades in the making to create a Midwest destination that complements the downtown, while maintaining an open, accessible riverfront.

MSL overview

Visitors can enter the park near Dillon Fountain on Main Street by taking the pedestrian bridge 25 feet up and over the railroad tracks. You'll be greeted by river-inspired flowing pathways leading to the shaded pavilions, a multi-use space set up for pickleball, or the adventure playground with water features and roller dam slides. As the park stretches to the east, there is more green space and a hillside overlook with native plants.

What's happening now?

January 5, 2026 - No regular work is taking place at Main Street Landing while the weather is so cold, but there's a lot of action in the fabrication shop! Here are some progress photos of the play structures. When completed, they will be delivered and installed.

December 2, 2025 -
Going UP! Work on Main Street Landing is reaching new heights with the installation of the steel piles that make up the foundation of the pedestrian bridge. The bridge will take visitors 25 feet up and across the park, leading to the green space and hillside overlook on the park's east end. Since this picture was taken, the season's first winter storm covered the park in a blanket of snow. That means construction will wrap for the year, unless there's an unseasonably warm stretch in the weeks ahead.

It may not be the most exciting update - but it is an important development! These three walls will become the restroom pavilion.

November 18, 2025 - What's that sound? People spending time in Downtown Davenport may be hearing extra construction noise lately. That's because work is focusing on the pedestrian bridge that will cross the railroad tracks. A defining feature of the park, the bridge will take visitors 25 feet up and across, leading to the green space and hillside overlook on the park's east end. More progress includes the completion of the riverwalk.

Pouring concrete

October 30, 2025 - Look what's taking shape at Main Street Landing! The project hit an an exciting milestone as crews poured the foundation for the flexible multiuse space and ice rink. The riverwalk and sidewalks are also nearing completion, setting the stage for more walkable, inviting connections to the water. Behind the scenes, sanitary and storm sewer work is wrapping up, paving the way for the next phase of construction.
As a reminder, please do not cross the fence line into the construction zone.

August 18, 2025 - The Skybridge is back open to the public! Visitors once again have access to the bridge from 2nd Street or the newly poured sidewalk near LeClaire Park on Beiderbecke Dr. For your safety, please do not cross the fence line into the construction zone.

New sidewalk

July 16, 2025 -
There is some exciting progress on the Main Street Landing site, where some of the park features are starting to take shape with the first concrete pours. A new sidewalk connects the Skybridge entrance to LeClaire Park. Concrete is poured for the restroom building and seawalls for the ice rink/sports court. The dirt still moving around the site will be sculpted into some of the park features.
