On schedule! Marquette St between 5th and 12th Streets will re-open to north and southbound travel by 5 p.m., today, Wednesday, November 24. Reconstruction is complete; however, finish work may require daytime lane reductions the week after Thanksgiving. North and southbound travel will be maintained for during finish activities, including minor sidewalk updates, backfill, and general cleanup.

Marquette St is moving nearer completion. The base and intermediate asphalt courses are being placed Wednesday, and Thursday. On Friday, November 5, placement of the surface course may cause temporary travel back-ups. Consider avoiding the area on that date. Full completion expected mid-to-late November.

Work on Marquette reconstruction is on schedule! With work in the northbound lane complete, the open travel lane will change to northbound beginning Monday, October 18. Southbound motorists will need to find an alternate route. Look for updates on project completion mid-November!

Construction on Marquette between 5th and 12th Streets is on schedule. Traffic control will change from the current two-way traffic to one southbound lane beginning Thursday, September 2. Northbound traffic should follow the signed detour or seek an alternate route.
Traffic control will change as work progresses. Beginning Thursday, work will involve removing and replacing pavement on the east side of this stretch.

More modernization on the way. Reconstruction of Marquette St between 5th and 12th Streets will begin Tuesday, July 6th. Reconstruction activities will include concrete removal and replacement, stormwater and intersection sidewalk updates, and signal improvements. Initially, construction activities will provide room for two-way travel. Later phases will require changing traffic control. The project is expected to be complete by late November 2021.

With Council approval of the plans and specifications to reconstruct Marquette St between 5th and 12th Streets last night, Davenport is bringing more highly anticipated improvements to another major thoroughfare this summer. The highly needed improvements are expected to begin in June/July and be complete by December.
Traffic re-routes are likely.
The public is invited to learn more about the project and ask questions on Monday, May 17th at a project meeting. The project meeting will be followed by a Third Ward Meeting at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend one or both meetings.
